Galleries

The Langham has two distinct exhibition spaces located on the 1st floor; the Main Gallery and the Lobby Gallery.
Our galleries display exhibits by professional artists from across Canada as well as talented regional emerging artists, local community and student group shows, and special cultural exhibits.

Galleries are open to the public from Friday to Monday, starting at 1pm and closing at 4pm.

Tamara Koenig-Fraser—Still Life….and Death

Exhibit Dates: May 15 - July 17, 2026

Tamara Koenig-Fraser is a third generation Kootenay child, born and raised in Nelson B.C. who was lured away from this beautiful valley by the excitement and possibilities of Cities….Calgary, Vancouver, San Fransisco, Edmonton and finally Toronto. The contrasts were stimulating and expansive but the Lake and Forests eventually called her home. Kaslo has held her since 1989.

Maggie Tchir— Riven

Exhibit Dates: May 15 - July 17, 2026

Maggie Tchir lives and maintains a studio in Nelson, British Columbia. Her work explores “our humanity; the relationships we cultivate with others through our personal and collective voices, highlighting global environmental and social justice/political viewpoints”. Her practice is process-based with a strong interest in materiality and making.

Exhibit Dates: March 6th to May 8th, 2026

The Ten Thieves Artist Collective includes Susan Andrews Grace, Jim Holyoak, Eimear Laffan, Hildur Jonasson, Genevieve Robertson, Maggie Shirley, Marnie Temple, Deborah Thompson and Carol Wallace. The artists came together in January of 2023 as a reading group to discuss post-human feminism, an inspirational imagining of classical humanism from a feminist perspective.

Kootenay Time — Fern Van Horn

Exhibit Dates: October 3 - December 5, 2025

In the Community Gallery, Fern Van Horn’s – Kootenay Time gathers five years of landscape painting in watercolour and acrylic. A longtime Kaslo resident, Van Horn draws inspiration from the mountains, rivers, and shifting skies of the Kootenays. Her plein air sketches, process notes, and finished works reveal a lifelong devotion to observing light, colour, and change in the land she calls home.
