Beauty Follows Rage 

Approaching an image without prior context allows for an immediate visceral reaction, where color, form, and composition dictate the initial emotional resonance.

However, once the history or cultural content is revealed, that passive observation transforms into an active dialogue; the narrative fundamentally alters our perception, turning a simple visual encounter into a profound intellectual and empathetic connection.  

In this exhibit, the artist has used her experiences of working before, during and after natural disasters across the province, to explore how nature continues to eternally rebuild and create beauty in a variety of ways. 

Bio— Deb Borsos

Deb comes from a family of multi-disciplinary artists. She has developed her own style over many years beginning with use of acrylics and now, working almost exclusively since the early 2000’s, with chalk pastels.

Deb concentrates on landscapes inspired by the many places she has visited and worked in, in British Columbia and beyond. Wearing another hat, Deb has worked for over 20 years in Emergency Management in BC and since 2021 has focused her time in community recovery, supporting rural and remote communities post disaster.

When not producing art, she also concentrates on supporting artists and arts organizations to
become better prepared and remain sustainable after disaster.

She has lived and worked mainly in the SE region of BC for the last 30+ years.
