Orton, a Canadian singer-songwriter and producer known for her dynamic, emotionally charged “Soul Noir” sound, weaves 60’s-tinged balladry, alt-folk textures, and echoes of her Doukhobor heritage into songs that feel both cinematic and deeply personal.
Stone Face Kid counters with knee-slapping, old-timey melodies on a weathered guitar, shining a warm light on the mundane: job crawls, youthful nights, small-town dust-ups, broken cars, shady bars, dwindled bank accounts, big wins, and big mistakes. All delivered with grit, humour, and heart.
