Join us for the opening of two new exhibitions at the Langham Cultural Centre on July 25th.
In the Main Gallery, Vancouver artist Jason Nielsen presents Infinity Canyon, a luminous series of photographic works printed on traditional Japanese kozo washi paper and layered with hand-applied gold leaf. Set against the landscapes of the Salish Sea, Nielsen’s work blurs the lines between photography, spirituality, and metaphysics—inviting viewers into a contemplative space where the natural world and consciousness itself intertwine. A filmmaker and editor by trade, Nielsen returns to photography with a vision shaped by Buddhism, cinema, and depth psychology.
In the Community Gallery, Nelson-based photographer Susan Faye offers In My Dreams, a deeply personal reflection on nature, memory, and perception. Raised on the prairies and long settled in the West Kootenays, Faye captures both the grandeur and subtleties of the natural world through emotive landscapes, intentional camera movement (ICM), and in-camera multiple exposures. Her images—printed on canvas—evoke a painterly, dreamlike quality that speaks to a lifelong journey of observation, learning, and visual storytelling.
Refreshments will be served. All are welcome!
